Directory compliance shouldn't require a call center.
We built Provatus to replace phone banks and spreadsheets with something that checks a provider against the federal record in seconds.
Why we built this
Provatus started with a question, not a company. The No Surprises Act turned provider directory accuracy into a federal obligation in 2022, with exposure measured per listing and per day. But the way most health plans meet it hasn't changed in years: call centers working the phones, or providers asked to confirm their own data and hoping they reply.
Here's what didn't add up. The data you need to verify a provider, whether their NPI is active, whether they've been excluded, whether the address is real, is public, federal, and free. Checking it by hand takes weeks. Checking it with software takes minutes. The gap between those two facts is the whole reason Provatus exists.
How we think about it
Verify against the source, not the provider.
Self-reported data is how directories drift in the first place.
Compliance tools should be a line item, not a capital project.
You shouldn't need a procurement cycle to find out whether your directory is accurate.
The honest number beats the impressive one.
We would rather show you a defensible score than a marketing claim.
See where your directory stands.
